Nokia 5233 Launched for Rs. 7,850

The 5233 is arguably the cheapest Nokia touchscreen device that you can buy in India today. The phone, priced at just Rs. 7,850 also makes it one of the cheapest smartphones you can buy today. Unlike the Corby or the Cookie, which uses proprietary operating systems, the 5233 is a full fledged smartphone running S60 Version 5. What you get for the money is the 2 megapixel camera, a 3.2-inch display, support for GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth and Ovi Maps. The 70 MB internal dynamic memory is expandable memory up to 16GB with microSD cards. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also supports video recording at up to 640×480 pixels and up to 30 fps – which is phenomenal for a phone priced at just about Rs. 8,000. The only thing you would miss would be support for 3G and Wi-Fi support. That is not much of a loss for the price you get this phone. The device also has a talk time of 7 hours and is available in Black and Red colors across India.

    Hi,

I’m using Nokia 5233 for month. It’s for first time buyers of touchscreen phones. the user interference is amazing…one thing that i wish to see was gps that was not there which make me disappointed, also screen guard looks very glossy and there are marks of stylus on screen which does not look good… iam the first time user of touchscreen phone hence iam very afraid about the reliability of touchscreen…i wish u could suggest something… thanx
